Inner Range has launched its two door reader with card cache.
This new version of the two door access module introduces a new backup card capability called ‘Card cache’, the makres report. This feature increases the redundant offline capabilities of the two door access module, according to the firm. Card cache operates as follows:
The access module stores the last 110 valid cards presented at each door in its card cache.
In the unlikely event of the access module losing communications with the control module, the cards in the cache will be able to gain entry.
This removes a big area of concern when using a reader module without local intelligence, the makers add.
