Doorset Ratings

by Msecadm4921

LPCB has announced the approval of Safeguard Doors’ Trenchard and Fenwick range of security doorsets, to LPS 1175 Specification for testing and classifying the burglary resistance of building components, strongpoints and security enclosures.

The doorsets achieved security ratings (SR) 3 and 4 respectively.

In achieving these security ratings the doorsets were proven to resist a series of sustained professional attacks with a wide variety of attack tools, each attack lasting five minutes for SR3 and 10 minutes for SR4. The Guide to Security Standards for Doors and Windows, produced by LPCB with BSIA and Secured by Design, recommends Security Rating 3 as the minimum appropriate standard for medium risk commercial premises. Doorsets certified by LPCB to security ratings 3 and 4 are increasingly being specified by major blue chip companies, insurers and government, it is claimed.

Copies of the Guide are available from www.redbooklive.com or by contacting the LPCB helpdesk on 01923 664100.
