Eight-Model Range

NA

At IFSEC 2002, Sony launched a new line-up of eight one-third inch-type cameras. This new offering replaces the existing range of 14 cameras. By simplifying existing power requirements to combine DC12V and AC24V in one cameras, and by focussing on one high-resolution colour camera series instead of two, the manufacturer has developed a slimmer range, of four colour and four black and white cameras. Features include Super HAD CCD and EXTWAVE HAD CCD technology; backlight compensation; and a CCD iris function to automatically adjust shutter speed depending on the amount of incident light. Design elements in the colour cameras include automatic white balance (in response to the lighting conditions); a switchable turbo AGC function that can control video gain up to 25dB to enable an object under low illumination to be distinguished more clearly; and an incorporated digital signal processor, reports Gary Quinn, Sales and Marketing Manager CCTV, Sony UK.
