The inaugural National Environmental Crime conference is running on October 7 at the British Library at St Pancras, London.
It’s supported by the Environment Agency and the Home Office.
Organisers – University College London’s Centre for Security and Crime Science (CSCS) in central London – say that environmental crime and eco-security are issues on the agenda of national and local governments. These emerging threats are a growing global problem which have a direct impact on the environment.
This conference will be a first step in the UK to reduce the threat that eco-crime poses to national and local communities. It will bring together academics, practitioners, industry, law enforcement and policy-makers to explore eco-crime problems such as wildlife crime, industrial pollution and illegal waste disposal. CSCS speak of bringing together an interdisciplinary effort using crime science, environmental engineering and systems engineering approaches. To register:
