Eurostar Start

by Msecadm4921

MITIE, the outsourcing company, has marked the start of its security businesses’ new contract with Eurostar by making a donation to the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal and encouraging all staff to wear one of the Marie Curie Daffodils.

The contract sees a new beginning for the Security Agents who have recently transferred over to MITIE through the TUPE process. To mark the start, the MITIE and Eurostar teams have used the Marie Curie Daffodil to raise awareness of the campaign amongst the millions of Eurostar passengers each week.

MITIE felt that this gesture would show the new employees their commitment to people. MITIE’s contract with Eurostar oversees a team of over 330 officers undertaking a variety of roles including customer service support, searching of trains, passengers and baggage, and 24 hour control of access and egress to all sites to meet the requirements stipulated under Department for Transport regulation.

Tony Medhurst, Managing Director of MITIE’s aviation security business said: “Rather than simply give a gift we wanted something that really represented the MITIE values. This way we are marking the start of a new relationship and donating to a worthy cause.”
