The British Bankers Association’s eighth Annual Financial Crime Conference runs on November 9, at Pinners Hall, 105-108 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1EX.
BBA organisers say that 2010 has seen a number of new challenges for those working to combat financial crime in the UK banking industry. The arrival of the Bribery Act, changing government powers, and huge fines for sanctions breaches have all contributed to the pressure on the industry to stamp down on criminal activity in the financial system. The increasing risk of enforcement action, the changing regulatory landscape and tighter economic conditions have contributed to this immense challenge.
This year’s event will feature a speaker panel of senior government representatives, law enforcement officials, legal and industry experts. Delegates will have the opportunity to share best practice ideas and to influence initiatives with government officials and financial sector decision makers.
