Schneider Electric and Sagem Sécurité (SAFRAN group), a biometric identification product firm, report a new security solution for industrial environments: the Harmony Biometric Switch.
The biometrics integrated in the “Harmony” product combine it is claimed user-friendliness (no key, badge or password that can be lost, forgotten, stolen or copied) with protection (uniqueness of access using fingerprint recognition).
Designed to operate fully independently, without an additional interface (PC), the biometric product’s parametering and enrolment functions are it is claimed quick, intuitive and directly performed on the sensor. As for installation, its compactness
enables it the makers say to be integrated in a control panel due to its compliance to the standard diameter 22mm cut-out mounting method.
