The fire alarm panel manufacturer C-TEC reports it has third-party product certifications and factory process approvals from three major independent approval bodies, the LPCB, the BSI and the VdS.
Approval by the British Standards Institute (BSI) was achieved in 2006 as a part of an assessment of C-TEC’s sounder isolator. This was followed in 2008 by official recognition by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) during evaluation of C-TEC’s XFP fire alarm panel and EP203 automatic extinguisher panel (although the company’s CFP conventional panel had already attained LPCB-approved status in 2006). Finally, in January 2009, Germany’s independent testing and certification institution, the VdS, completed a factory audit as part of the assessment of a new range of EN54-4:1997/Amendment 2:2006 compliant power supplies.
Says Charlotte Manley, C-TEC’s Sales Director: “With the growing emphasis on CPD compliance and CE marking of products, third-party certification is of paramount importance in the industry. The LPCB, BSI and VdS are recognised worldwide by governments and regulatory authorities, and certification from all three is the ultimate seal of approval for a manufacturer of life safety equipment. This is a tremendous achievement for C-TEC.”
