A website to combat benefit fraud has been launched.
The Department for Work and Pensions says that the site is to encourage people to report suspicions of such fraudsters, including on-line.
The department reports that an estimated £1.5 billion is taken each year by people who are not entitled to it. The website says that increasingly Government computer systems compare information to check if customers are entitled to their benefit. During 2003-2004, computers identified a total of 313,068 inconsistencies for further investigation.
