Fuel Spend

by msecadm4921

Installer Contract Fire Services (CFS) – a £10m turnover company running 100-plus vehicles – researched the marketplace and chose Abbey Fuelcards for their ability to provide a competitive fixed weekly price, and a reporting system tailored to meet CFC’s requirements.

With a nationwide operation of fire detection, suppression and security associated services, including 24/7 emergency call out, CFS reports that it has a substantial fuel bill. Although already using retail fuel cards, with which fuel was purchased at pump prices, CFS found that the administration costs of its previous provider were excessive. It also found that leaving the onus of searching for cheaper fuel with the driver did not always result in the most economic purchase. This, with an account management system not tailored to its precise needs, led to the Midlands-based firm seeking a change of provider.

With no charge for monthly accounting, a reporting system tailored to CFS’s requirements, a weekly agreed price per litre and a nationwide network of fuel outlets, Abbey Fuelcards solved all the drawbacks of the previous card provider at a stroke, it is claimed.

What they say

Ann Chesney of CFS says: "We would be happy to recommend Abbey Fuelcards to any organisation looking to control its annual spend on fuel in an efficient and economic manner. The weekly spreadsheet – designed to give us exactly what we need – saves on our own administration cost and is not charged for by Abbey. On top of this, Abbey’s customer service is second to none with an immediate response to any query. We have over 100 cars on the road so it’s comforting to know that at least one company – Abbey Fuelcards Ltd – is helping to contain the overall spend for those companies who rely on vehicles to maintain their core business and their service to customers."
