Tough Furniture Ltd manufactures furniture to suit the special needs of environments where abuse, carelessness or challenging behaviour is a problem. The company approached Camlock Systems when its existing lock suppliers were unable to meet its requirement for a new product range.
Camlock designed a locking system to meet the precise specifications that Tough Furniture had for the new additions and is now being considered to supply other locks and fittings.
Customers of Tough Furniture include special schools, psychiatric and mental hospitals, secure units, drug & alcohol rehabilitation centres and other establishments housing those who exhibit challenging behaviour. A range of furniture is available, extending to TV and computer cabinets and custom-made items, all of which complies with safety standards.
Tough Furniture has found that the new locking system manufactured by Camlock saves production time and gives the company greater manufacturing flexibility. One of several benefits is housings with interchangeable mechanisms so an item of furniture can be supplied with key operated locks or tamper proof closures, according to the customer’s requirements.
