Axis Communications introduces an addition to its new generation of network video products which deliver multiple H.264 streams.
The AXIS P1311 network camera is a solution for video surveillance systems with storage and bandwidth efficiency requirements, such as schools, retail stores, banks and other office buildings.
The AXIS P1311
In addition to H.264 and Motion JPEG, it supports MPEG-4 Part 2 for backward compatibility. For further flexibility regarding storage and bandwidth usage in the system, AXIS P1311 offers support for a SD/SDHC memory card for local video recordings. Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) supplies power to the cameras via the network, eliminating the need for power cables and reducing installation costs.
AXIS P1311 Network Camera also includes video intelligence such as enhanced video motion detection, audio detection and detection of camera tampering such as through blocking or spray-painting. It offers the market’s most extensive suite of security and network management capabilities, including HTTPS encryption with preserved performance, IEEE 802.1X authentication, IPv4/IPv6 and Quality of Service.
What they say
Anders Laurin, executive vice president, Axis Communications said: "AXIS P1311 provides multiple H.264 streams as well as Motion JPEG streams simultaneously, either in full frame rate, or individually optimized for different quality needs and bandwidth constraints. With its new robust metal casing, this fixed network camera is ideal for areas where a clearly visible camera is preferred for deterrence."
Steve Gorski, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) Ltd said: “This is a high performance network camera featuring H.264 compression designed for demanding surveillance environments. Our new generation of network cameras is set to offer the most comprehensive selection of cameras offering H.264 output on the market today.”
AXIS P1311 Network Camera is supported by the video management software through the Axis Application Development Partner programme and by AXIS Camera Station. The cameras will be available in Q4 through Axis’ distribution channels.
