Launched in Northampton on Thursday, July 30 is haulnet – a multi-lingual and free to use journey planning solution designed to promote safer truck parking locations within the UK.
Not only does the website provide a dynamic, online reference point for members to identify parking locations, but also advises them on crime hotspots and allows drivers to receive information and alerts directly from the police.
haulnet is the idea of BRM Solutions – a Logistics Security Consultancy, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire and an Allied Industry Member of the Road Haulage Association.
The system has been designed with Zinc Digital, a Northampton based digital media company who has used Google API Technology to ensure that information is displayed in a logical manner.
David Wright, Chief Executive from Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited said: “We are delighted that haulnet has decided to run a pilot scheme promoting safer truck parking locations in Northamptonshire. There is a great wealth of logistics companies based in Northamptonshire due to the excellent transport links and the county’s unique central location.
