by Msecadm4921

City Hospital Birmingham is the venue for the 2010 National Association Healthcare Security (NAHS) conference, on November 19. It’s titled ‘Bridging The Gap – Addressing The Challenges Of Healthcare Security’.

With ever increasing demands made upon health security services, the conference aims to bring together up to 180 like-minded and interested delegates to address the challenges faced.

Vice Chair of the association and conference organiser, Peter Finch said: “We are all conscious of growing demands and in some cases reduced resources to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff and visitors to our healthcare facilities. By bringing together all the key players in managing this task, we will be able to showcase best practice and share vital learning in what is an essential function of our organisations.

“The conference will include sessions on challenging violence, dealing with current legislation, new research findings and the upskilling of front line staff.

“We will also be focussing on emergency planning for health, looking at how prepared we are prepared nationally for crises, and how we can protect ourselves should the worst happen.”

Peter Finch is Trust Security Adviser at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust which includes City Hospital, on Dudley Road (postcode for sat navs: B18 7QH

Featuring speakers who are some of the country’s most influential health emergency planning and security personnel, the conference will enable delegates to network with colleagues from across the country.
