Hose Test

by msecadm4921

The Metal Mickey camera, Forward Vision’s Mic1-400 was recently tested head-to-head against high pressure water spray from a fire hose.

The test sought to confirm the Mic1-400’s performance under extreme conditions beyond its stated environmental specifications. Made of CNC-milled 6mm-thick aluminium or 316L stainless steel, the camera is IP68 sealed for protection against ingress and periods of immersion under pressure, providing, the makers say, absolute performance in extreme conditions such as a direct high-pressure water jet from a fire hose.

Featuring a hurricane-ready design that makes it suitable, it is claimed, for harbour and coastal applications, the Mic1-400 is installed at critical locations including the UK’s transit systems, bridges, tunnels and the London Underground. The test was conducted with cooperation from Canada’s Burnaby Fire Department #1.
