IFSEC 2009 sees the debut of CBC (Europe)’s latest Ganz systems and Computar lenses, including the new C-AllView Night Vision system.
The CCTV product firm says that Night Vision combines the optical/operating advantages of Ganz’s vandal-resistant C-AllView camera with infrared lighting built-in to the camera housing.
Add-on, external infrared lighting is therefore not required for this model, ensuring the correct night-time illumination is automatically provided for the camera operator. This feature also offers simpler and easier installation for day/night images, the makers add. Night Vision’s integral infrared provides a matching 30 degree angle of illumination properly synced with the camera view. The infrared lighting provides even output illumination, with an 850nM wavelength optimised for the LED lamp. The camera’s infrared range is just over 50m.
Night Vision’s ‘green’ LED technology provides comparatively low running costs with a power consumption of only 10W. The IR illumination offers an expected lamp life of up to 10 years – the camera’s integral LED illuminators have an efficiency of 80 to 90 per cent which, combined with their low operating temperatures, ensures this lifespan.
"Importantly, Night Vision also addresses the drawbacks in providing night-time illumination for cameras such as domes, where these rotating cameras’ required angle of lighting at any one time is not known – requiring potentially expensive, constant and wasteful illumination of the whole scene," says CBC’s Sales and Marketing Manager, John Downie.
Radar Vision
CBC are also demonstrating its Radar Vision system at IFSEC 09. The system provides all-round site security using multiple, integrated technologies. It can alert security staff to an intruder’s (person or vehicle) presence and automatically tracks their movements in real-time. The system can also track and monitor multiple intruders at the same time. Providing detection up to 800m radius (per unit), Radar Vision can be coupled with any Ganz C-AllView CCTV camera to detect, track and outsmart intruders in all weather or lighting.
"Ganz Radar Vision uses radar combined with complementary surveillance technologies. This holistic security solution allows control room staff to work more efficiently, saves money on unnecessary site patrols, and eliminates false alarms," Mr Downie adds.
