IFSEC announces a partnership with Specialised Exhibitions (a subsidiary of Andry Montgomery Ltd), owner of Securex, South Africa’s largest security event.
IFSEC owners CMP Information has acquired a 50pc stake in Securex, resulting in the formation of IFSEC South Africa incorporating Securex.
Surveillance equipment, particularly CCTV, is the largest sector of South Africa’s security market, which is valued between $85 million and $165 million.
The IFSEC brand was exported to India last year, with the launch of IFSEC India in October 2007. Launched in 1994, Securex’s 2007 Johannesburg show attracted 190 exhibitors and was attended by close to 6,000 visitors.
CMP Group Director, Simon Parker, says of the launch: “The South African security market has rapidly increased over the past few years and similarly, Securex has seen substantial growth. With the IFSEC global sales and marketing network, we are well positioned to take the event to the next level as the largest pan-African security event.”

IFSEC South Africa incorporating Securex 2009 will run from 1-3 July 2009 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa.
