A European Information Assurance conference and exhibition, InfoSeCon 2005 (www.infosecon.org), is running in Dubrovnik, Croatia, June 6 to 9 2005.
InfoSeCon 2005, say organisers Information Security Bulletin (ISB) and Croatian ZIK, will unite government and private sector information security specialists from the European countries, not least EU accession and candidate countries in the process of developing secure information infrastructures at a breathtaking pace. The conference, which comprises three simultaneous presentation tracks, will strive, claim organisers, to develop and further what organisers call a holistic understanding of Information Assurance, including all aspects of Information Security.
InfoSeCon 2005 spans the range of issues facing European countries, say organisers: EU and corporate compliance, national security, international cooperation, fraud prevention, cybercrime, and new legislation. The conference will bring together people with different types of expertise and of different backgrounds: CSOs, CISO, CTOs, legal experts, politicians, system architects and managers, company and department heads, various disciplines, all involved in tackling the subject of Information Assurance.
InfoSeCon 2005 comprises a series of some 50 to 60 presentations, organisers add.
Speakers
Invited speakers include Richard Bejtlich (author of several books including The Tao of Network Security Monitoring), John Sherwood (inventor of the SABSA enterprise security design method), Vince Gallo (inventor of a score of computer forensic methods), Andreas Mitrakas (co-developer of a number of EU standards), Alex Charnowski (author of Katapulta and other network tools), Sverre Huseby (author of Innocent Code), Tom Patterson (author of Mapping Security), Andrea Pirotti (Director of ENISA) and Marcus Alldrick (Head of Security, Abbey Bank).
