On display at the Airport, Port and Intermodal Security Summit from December 3 to 5 will be a selection of Commend digital intercom equipment from Complus Teltronic, used to link intercoms, CCTVs, mobile radios, telephones, pagers and help points. The intercoms can be networked across an entire airport and even to sites elsewhere in the country, providing a consolidated communications system for safety and security purposes, the makers say. The Commend Central Communication Servers and Nodes allow tailoring to user needs, the manufacturers report. Digital networking via copper, fibre optics and even local area and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), provides a single platform for intercoms in short and long stay car parks, disabled toilets, lifts, help points, secure doors and access points, x-ray areas, departure gates, baggage handling, and check-in desks. For remote locations where cabling and power is not available, vandal and weather resistant GSM stations are available.
