Intruder Warning

by Msecadm4921

Honeywell Security has added the Reson8 Bell Box to its range of intruder warning devices.

The product has an integrated sounder/strobe and self-activating cut-off timer. It indicates an intrusion into protected premises audibly and visually, by a 115dB siren sound and xenon flashes. To avoid noise pollution, the product can be configured to reset itself after a pre-set time interval, of five, 10 or 20 minutes. Tamper circuitry will operate if the cover is opened, or the bell box is removed from the wall. One of two internal Led Light Emiting Diodes (LEDs) indicates tamper status, while the other LED indicates that power is being supplied. The LEDs can be set to alternate for eye-catching status confirmation. An integral 12V Ni-Cd battery provides back up power.

Installation and commissioning of Reson8 is easy, the makers report; in addition to the means for configuring the reset times, there is a test mode that triggers short alarm bursts lasting five seconds. The box is of polycarbonate construction with an white cover, and measures 291x268x69mm. The makers add that the product is designed to exceed all the requirements of EN50131-4 51; Security Grade 2, Environmental Class III.
