RedZebra Mobile is working with a London-based patent attorney firm, Agile IP to ensure their mobile imaging solutions benefit from Intellectual Property (IP) protection.
Technology developed by RedZebra Mobile allows secure electronic movement of images from mobile phones to remote servers. The moment an image is captured, all data is immediately encrypted. Clients forward images to the secure remote service, safe in the knowledge that they cannot be tampered with or viewed. The system also includes a GPS picture location application that matches an image with its satellite coordinates in both map and text format, saving exactly what occurred, where it took place and when it happened.
RedZebra Mobile works with organisations in the private and public sectors, delivering secure and flexible mobile imaging solutions. Their cutting edge technology means that clients can view and record remote work progress or problems, giving head office and regional locations immediate access to view onsite issues.
Robert Sayer, senior partner at Agile IP explains the importance of getting the right protection in place for RedZebra Mobile: “When a company like RedZebra is developing new applications, it’s critical to address their IP needs at the earliest stage. This is both in terms of the type of protection that they need to have in place as well as the geographic reach of any protection. We are certainly seeing more young, innovative companies, like RedZebra Mobile, taking the issue of IP seriously and appreciating the economic benefits it brings in the longer term.”
Errol Finkelstein, CEO of RedZebra, is a firm believer in getting IP protection established as early as possible: “Some companies have a misconception that acquiring and maintaining IP is expensive and out of their reach. This simply is not the case. The risks to innovative companies like ours is in not getting the right IP protection in place, and then finding your products have been copied and you have no redress – you could lose your business, let alone your good name in the market. Agile IP have helped us make sure this isn’t going to happen.”
Robert Sayer, explaining the services Agile IP provide, says: “Our role is varied but generally involves advising clients as to what forms of protection are available, preparing all legal documentation, and acting for the client to secure protection in the UK, and abroad if needed. Should an infringement occur we can defend their interests by issuing proceedings and if necessary, representing our clients before the Patents County Court and instruct barristers if representation before higher courts is needed.”
Agile IP is a firm of patent and trade mark attorneys who advise and act for clients in all aspects of IP protection including patents, trademarks, designs, copyright and overseas protection. For more information: call 0208 915 1010.
