IP Models

by msecadm4921

Sony Corporation has decided to incorporate the new Intersil Security Link Over Coax (SLOC) technology into a number of its 2011 IP camera models within their network camera product family.

The SLOC technology was developed by US manufacturer of semiconductors Intersil Techwell and is incorporated in Intersil’s TW3801 and TW3811. This technology allows simultaneous transmission of analog CVBS video and digital IP video over a single coaxial cable, enabling mega-pixel IP cameras to operate on CCTV coaxial infrastructure at distances of up to 500m, it’s claimed. This hybrid surveillance system supports latency-free analogue CCTV as well as networked IP surveillance the firms say. The SLOC device will be incorporated into Sony’s security cameras in 2011, providing customers with a flexible solution that allows latency-free live viewing and traditional real-time PTZ control, it’s claimed.

“Intersil is delighted to be able to work with Sony, who continues with their tradition as a market leader in new technology adoption. Together, we will help accelerate the growth of IP Security Systems within the video surveillance market,” said Susan Hardman, Senior Vice President of Intersil’s Analog and Mixed Signal Group. “Our SLOC technology will help Sony to change the face of IP video surveillance. Like Sony, we believe the future of the security surveillance market will continue to grow exponentially.”

“We are pleased that Intersil’s new technology will enable us to offer new value to our customers by bringing an HD network camera solution to their existing SD infrastructure,” said Takashi Honda – Deputy Senior General Manager, Visual Security Solution business division, Sony Corporation. “We truly believe that this collaboration is a tremendous opportunity to expand our mutual business for the future.”
