GVD, a distributor of IP technology, is launching its Milestone XProtect Professional training schedule for the security industry.
As an Advanced Certified Distributor for Milestone, GVD are also the only company delivering Milestone training in the UK. The training runs in Milestoneโs UK head office in Derby.<br><br>The objective of the one-day course is to provide security installers with a basic understanding of the IP video market and technology, plus hands-on experience with the single-server solution Milestone XProtect Professional. There are no pre-requisites for the course, however a working understanding of IP networking and hands on networking skills would be beneficial, the firms say. Other companies have availed of the GVD IP knowledge and skills training before to taking the Milestone Professional course to equip themselves properly to succeed with IP video management software.<br><br>During the one day course, delegates learn how to use and install Milestone software. This is the companies say for any security person wishing to differentiate themselves in the market by selling and implementing the XProtect software. Topics include – <br><br>the hardware and software components<br>how to add and configure cameras easily<br>how to get licenses for cameras<br>how to schedule events and PTZ patrolling<br>how to set up users and user rights for controlling access and usability<br>how to use Smart Client including fast export for evidence<br>use the Milestone storage/networks calculator for optimal system specifications.<br><br>There is a multiple choice test on the day and once delegates pass this, they will become Milestone Certified Partners and receive a discount on software purchases. Milestone Official Certification will be sent two weeks after completion of the course, by Milestone HQ in Denmark. The course costs £445 per person. On successful completion of the exam delegates will receive a free Milestone Professional Base Licence and a four-camera licence worth £930. This can be used for demonstration purposes or sold on for an initial Milestone project.
