The manufacturer of analogue and IP transmission products Vigitron has introduced a new diagnostic tool that saves time and money it’s claimed when installing PoE network products.
The patent-pending ViewMate model Vi0020 PoE Camera Setup Tool works with CCTV and IT systems compliant in operations under 802.3 af/at Power over Ethernet (PoE) standards.
The ViewMate is described by the makers as compact and improving productivity by streamlining IP camera installation. It features a two-digit PoE voltmeter, providing a measurement of actual voltage delivered to the camera. Using the Vi0020 allows installers and repair staff to determine trouble-spots and affect repairs. When connected, the product passes power from the PoE Midspan at the control room to the remote IP camera and provides a direct network connection from the remote IP camera to a local laptop to complete the installation.
