Manufacturer Extreme CCTV unveils the new ZX700 infrared illuminator.
The product is capable of providing 1km (0.6miles) of active-IR night vision, a new capability for homeland security, ports and critical infrastructure applications, the firm reports. The ZX700 uses "Gold Optics" and special filters to produce what the makers call a highly focused cylindrical beam engineered to penetrate long-distances. Requiring, it is claimed, very low input power, a dual system achieves 1km of high-resolution night vision when used with Extreme’s approved IR-sensitive cameras and lenses. The ZX700 has been integrated with radar systems for โseek and defineโ proactive security.
