Silent Witness has released the LumaView series of infrared (IR) illuminators.
Silent Witness has released the LumaView series of infrared (IR) illuminators – the IR 75 and IR 200 – for monitoring in low light or completely dark conditions. LumaView enables IR-sensitive CCTV cameras to produce images under night-time conditions without imposing intensive, obtrusive visible light illumination, the makers say. LumaView IR illuminators can be used anywhere night-time monitoring is required and normal lighting is too expensive or prohibited, the makers say. The products are weather sealed for indoor or outdoor use and work with distances of up to 130m. They are suitable for military, law enforcement, perimeter security, airport, prison, school and customs agency applications, Silent Witness say. Three types of filters are offered to suit applications. Overt illumination produces a distinct red glow that warns of the presence of IR light (715nm). Semi covert illumination produces a faint red glow that can be detected with a trained eye (850nm). Full covert illumination avoids any red glow. LumaView was shown at the 2002 American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in September 2002.
