A service that provides corporate IT networks with protection has been launched by Total Network Solutions.
TNS Unified Security reports that it provides defence against threats to IT networks to the worldwide BS7799-2 security standard. This results in reduced management costs and increased productivity for the business, it is claimed.
Malicious incidents are a growing threat and networks are increasingly vulnerable because traditional firewalls and conventional software are powerless against ever-more sophisticated "content-based" attacks carried by e-mails, file transfers, web pages and virtual private networks, it is claimed.
Combining a certified inspection firewall, antivirus, anti-spam, content filtering, intrusion detection/prevention and a virtual private network, the service ensures businesses are kept secure at all times with end-to-end protection from a single provider, it is claimed.
The service quarantines junk mail, prevents and records unauthorised intrusion attempts to keep out malicious hackers and allows companies to determine an acceptable use web policy, the firm says.
The service uses remote access communications to prevent potential hackers from eavesdropping on internet traffic and collecting company data and passwords, it is claimed. Supplied on a contract basis, the service reduces in-house IT expenditure, the firm says.
What they say
"Conventional, software-based security solutions rely on complex and costly systems that are inadequate to protect today’s real time communications," says Mike Harris, managing director of Total Network Solutions.
"TNS Unified Security provides a highly effective solution at a fraction of the in-house cost because the dedicated specialists required to operate a sophisticated service are shared across our customer base."
