Reliance Secure Task Management Limited has been selected, with HBOS plc and Kier Project Investment Ltd, as preferred bidder for a 30-year Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract for Kent Police Authority.
The project involves the financing, design and construction of a Divisional Headquarters at Gravesend in North Kent. Subject to contract award, which is expected in October 2005, construction work would start in January 2006. RSTM reports that it would provide a range of support services, starting in July 2007, including contract management, estate maintenance, utilities and energy management, the operation of a public service counter, catering and hospitality, cleaning and waste management, a logistics service, a property management and tape/disc service and conference booking and preparation. It is estimated that the support services contract will generate turnover for RSTM of £1.3m in a full year.
