Kroll Support

by Msecadm4921

Kroll Security International (KSI), the high risk security group of Kroll, the risk consulting company, is offering its support to the fundraising project, Driving Home.

This project will see Colin Javens, paralysed from the shoulders down, drive from Stoke Mandeville hospital across Europe, then from Cairo to Cape Town, to raise money for spinal injury charities. KSI reports that it will be providing local security information to the expedition, keeping in contact with the team throughout their journey. Through their central intelligence services and local representative in Africa, KSI will provide advice on issues such as political instability, civil unrest and health emergencies.  The expedition will also have access to the 24/7 crisis response centre should they need for advice or more urgent help.

This arrangement took shape when Anthony Franks, head of information and intelligence services at KSI read an article about the trip.  He felt that the consultancyโ€™s work in the region so closely matched the needs of the group of travellers, and that the cause was such a worthy one, that they should provide their services pro bono, a suggestion supported by Alastair Morrison, CEO of KSI. The expedition left in early November and plans to reach Cape Town in April 2006.  More details on the expedition can be found at http://www.drivinghome.co.uk/
