Legion Day

by Msecadm4921

Legion Group is hosting an open day at the company’s new, purpose-built ARC and support service office at Nateby, near Preston, on Wednesday, September 24.

Baroness Henig of Lancaster, SIA chairman, is guest of honour and will officially open the centre.

It is the occasion for guarding contractor Legion Group’s parent company, The Royal British Legion Attendants Company Trust (RBLACT), to donate over £62,000 to the ex-services mental welfare society, Combat Stress.

The donation will help fund the costs of employing a Regional Welfare Officer for the England North West region for the next two years. Combat Stress exists to serve men and women of all ranks from the Armed Forces and the Merchant Navy suffering from psychological disability as a result of their service. Through their welfare officers they visit veterans at home, to establish how best Combat Stress can help improve their quality of life. The organisation also provides treatment centres to help people cope with their disabilities. Each year Combat Stress has to raise the costs to cover its regional welfare support services through charitable donations.

“Legion Group are proud to be associated with RBLACT and the valuable work of Combat Stress, “ said Daniel Atkinson, Legion Group Managing Director. “This donation is a tangible way of demonstrating to our customers that by choosing Legion as their service provider they are indirectly helping ex-servicemen and women to re-settle into civilian life.”
