Len Hynds Speaks

by Msecadm4921

The internet has revolutionised business. But it also offers scope to the criminal. So say organisers of a seminar.

Hacking, spamming, pumping and dumping. We are in the new economy and these are its crimes; fraud, lethal viruses and malicious hackers. The internet and e-commerce have revolutionised business in just a few years. But they also offer enormous scope to the criminal. So say organisers of a seminar hosted by hacker turned good guy Robert Schifreen. The speaker is Detective Chief Supt Len Hynds who heads the new police unit to fight cybercrime. The New National Hi-Tech Crime Unit is the lynchpin in the UK?s co-ordinated response to cybercrime in partnership with law enforcement, business and the IT world. It will undertake national proactive investigations of serious and organised crime using IT, and provide consultation to local forces and other agencies; liaise with government on policy issues and provide a 24-hour point of contact for G8 countries. The venue is RSA Midlands, Austin Court, Birmingham on November 27 at 6.30pm. Tickets cost œ10. Contact: Viv Long-Ferguson, RSA Midlands, Austin Court, 80 Cambridge Street, Birmingham B1 2NP.
