VIVOTEK’s product portfolio of network cameras, video servers and receivers, NVRs, and central management software is now available through electronic security product distributor Norbain.

Networked surveillance makes it possible to send live images and audio for remote monitoring, learning, web broadcasting, or any other activity requiring a remote presence. VIVOTEK’s codec technology allows users to view, control, and manage all networked cameras using any standard web browser or VIVOTEK’s own surveillance management software – from any networked computer.

VIVOTEK report that they have become the first company in the world to offer a Scalable Video Coding (SVC), next-generation H.264 based video codec. The SVC turns a single video stream into multiple layers, allowing video data to be divided into different resolutions, picture sizes, and frame rates. Saving on network bandwidth, this allocation of video data can reduce bandwidth usage and storage capacity needs by up to 70 per cent, it is claimed, and also reduce loads on CMS servers and CPUs.

Enabling users to monitor locations off-site, by providing access to surveillance camera video on their iOS device, VIVOTEK’s iViewer app for iPhone and iPad enables the monitoring of live video, from one, to hundreds of cameras. These can be managed by centralized management software VAST, or standard recording software ST7501, at any time, and from anywhere.

In addition to remote monitoring of live video, iViewer provides playback options, including the ability to view archived footage after initiating searches by date and time, configurable playback duration times, and variable-speed fast-forward and reverse playback. iViewer also provides powerful management features, such as the ability to remotely control ePTZ/PTZ cameras’ pan, tilt, and zoom. Users can capture video frames for archival and later review.

The current range of SUPREME series IP network cameras including true day/night cameras, fixed domes, speed domes, and fisheye domes, all offer extreme video clarity. High-definition 2, 3, and 5-Megapxiel resolution models ensure exceptional detail and ultra-sharp images, whilst their accurate colour reproduction makes them suitable for the most critical applications. 60 fps @ 720p HD as well as 30fps @ 1080p Full HD ensure smooth, crystal-clear video when monitoring fast-moving scenes or action at high speed.

Recognising the high-performance of VIVOTEK’s range of IP surveillance cameras, the company recently won a Camera Excellence Award for the world’s best HDcctv and IP HD/megapixel technology, at Securtech 2011, Taiwan. The VIVOTEK IP8162P 2MP Full HD camera emerged as a winner from among 19 top-flight entrants, offering superior image quality in challenging conditions, including night-time, by drawing on sophisticated features such as P-iris lenses, focus assist, and WDR enhancement.

"VIVOTEK’s depth of state-of-the-art IP products gives installers the ability to create effective and reliable IP surveillance systems," says Buzz Coates, Norbain’s Divisional Director Branded CCTV. "Utilizing VIVOTEK’s IP Network Cameras, users can build a completely scalable, high-performance wired or wireless IP Surveillance System that can be used to locally or remotely monitor and protect people, assets and infrastructure."
