Norbain has unveiled the seminars at this year’s LIVE 05 regional security events.
At each venue three seminars will be presented by speakers that include Prof Martin Gill, Director of Perpetuity Research and Consultancy International and a Professor of Criminology at the University of Leicester; Ian Fowler, Norbain’s Technical Training Manager, and representatives of local police forces.
At each venue the seminar program will get underway at 11am with a presentation by a practitioner in CCTV evidence gathering on the topic of ‘Impact of Moving to Digital Video Evidence’. The seminar will consider how digital recording is changing the life of the average investigating officer, and the issues installers and end users should take into account in designing systems and devising operational procedures.
At midday, Ian Fowler will address delegates on the topic of ‘Driving Up Profits’, an exploration of seven value-added ways for installers and integrators to improve their sales performance and further use the data that security systems create. Ian will look at the diversity of non-security applications for CCTV and the commercial opportunities this presents, for instance using ANPR to improve customer service to visitors.
The third seminar each day starting at 2.15pm will be on topic of ‘Integration in Perspective: where do we go from here?’ Prof Martin Gill, who has been involved with numerous and wide ranging research intoCCTV, will examine how the industry needs to move beyond the self-evident fact that system integration is a positive given, and instead focus on the detailed project management issues that must be addressed if integration is to deliver its much heralded benefits.
