Lock Range

by Msecadm4921

Buntingford, Herts-based Specialized Security Products report that after listening to their access control installers they have developed a magnetic locking range with door status monitoring.

How does it work:

A normal open contact is fitted under the lid of the maglock with a magnet attached to the end of the armature plate – this contact then works independently from the magnetic lock and is not reliant on power being applied to the lock.

Why would you use it

Unlike lock monitoring, door status (DS) monitoring shows the position of the door at all times with or without power being applied to the lock, allowing the contact to be used as an auto-relock for most access control systems.  This means that no additional contacts have to be fitted and that all wiring cable can be terminated in the wiring compartment of the lock.

Door status monitoring can be used with your surveillance monitors / traffic light indicator for example.

You can see Specialized’s full range of magnets by visiting their website.
