After bringing in-house the sales of its High Security Multipoint locks, bolts and secure access systems earlier this year, Pickersgill-Kaye reports attaining the BS EN 1125:2008 and BS EN 179:2008 ratings for the emergency escape devices included in the range.
The new certification updates that already held under the sales agreement with Adams Rite.
After a mechanical testing process, factory inspection and production assessment, all undertaken by Exova Warrington APT, both surface and mortice mounted iterations (HS120 & HS210) of the emergency/panic escape locks passed the standards required for certification, allowing architects and contractors to continue specifying them as an essential part of a secure door set.
Achieving the BS EN standard is a legal requirement for these devices and product compliance is strictly audited on an annual basis. Successful certification shows, Leeds-based Pickersgill-Kaye says, that the lock manufacturer has the infrastructure to support both production and sales of the Multipoint Locks range for the long term.

The makers say the Multipoint range of locks, bolts and fittings has been developed to meet exacting standards of physical attack but maintain safe and easy exit, when needed, without compromising health and safety issues. The products have undergone independent blast testing, fire testing and cycle testing to in excess of one million cycles.
Suitable the company says for steel and wooden doors, the range incorporates several operational options to conform to current fire safety standards and DDA regulations and can be integrated with specialised access control requirements or configurations to meet most applications.
