UK manufacturer of fingerprint biometric products TSSI has announced new logging features for its Verid+ access control products.
Through this capability, Verid+ Log and LogView add irrefutable proof of use to the fingerprint verification process, according to the firm. They move the value of biometrics in access control to a new level, the company claims.
Verid+ Log stores up to 2000 fingerprint verification data records on each Verid+ device, using non-volatile memory. A PC application, Verid+ LogView can then be used to select, extract and export the data to an Excel spreadsheet for analysis.
While Verid+ Log and LogView could be used as time and attendance systems, their value is much greater in the fight against theft, misrepresentation and fraud, according to the makers. The movement of suspected persons through premises or into specific areas, like stock rooms, dispensaries and cash rooms, can now be validated by the time-stamped records. There can be no arguments as to who was where and when.
