MIS Training are running their fifth annual (CISO) Chief Security Officer Summit. It runs from November 30 to December 2, at the Thistle Marble Arch Hotel, London.
Thereโs also a one-day adjoining โSecure London in 2012โ briefing on November 29. Aimed at senior security, resilience, investigations and risk executives, the event will seek to tackle current and critical security challenges.
Among the speakers on the Wednesday, November 30, day one of the summit, are Dominic Cunningham, Head of Security & Safety EMEA, Google; Paul Kelly, Director, Security – Europe, Middle East and Africa, The Walt Disney Company; and, speaking on fraud risk, Crawford Robinson, Global Director of Investigations at AstraZeneca; and Nigel J Carpenter, Director, Group Security, AMEC plc. Topics include social media – whether the balance between security and privacy; and as an internet tool, for vetting and recruiting, and gathering intelligence.
On day two, the topics include kidnap. Speaking will be Suzanne Williams QPM, the former policewoman now an anti-kidnap consultant. David Burrill, Director, BurrillGreen, the former BAT head of security, will interview the mother of a British hostage who was held in captivity in Iraq.
The Secure 2012 day speakers include, from airline Virgin Atlantic, Andy Blackwell, Head of Aviation Security, and Ally Shearer, Border Security and Facilitation Manager; and for the British Security Industry Association, David Evans, Project Director โ 2012. That day ends with an afternoon visit to east London and ExCel to view the Olympic perimeter.
