Maintenance Division

by Msecadm4921

Security installer Unique Integrated Systems has launched a dedicated CCTV Maintenance Division.

Based in Skelmersdale, UIS says it has a track record as a designer and installer of CCTV and remote surveillance monitoring equipment, but now it is introducing a new maintenance team. Equipped with its own mobile ‘cherry-picker’ access lift and a static lift for more awkward places, the new team is able to carry out a thorough repair and maintenance service that covers all elements of a CCTV system including cameras, lenses, mounting brackets, lighting, IR lamps, transmitters and mutiplexors. The team also maintains digital and video recording equipment, processors and remote surveillance monitoring systems, as well as providing advice about environmental factors such as lighting and the effect of potential obstructions such as foliage and parked vehicles.

The new division will operate throughout the UK, the firm says. However, not all client problems require a high-tech solution, as UIS Managing Director Phil Donougher says: “There are a surprising number of CCTV systems out there that just don’t work to their maximum potential. Companies can spend large amounts of money installing a system but, over time, little things go wrong and no one fixes them, even though they are often very easy to rectify. For the sake of something as trivial as replacing an infra-red bulb, or even just removing a film of dirt from the camera lens or monitor, the performance, and therefore the value, of the system is allowed to deteriorate to the point where it becomes almost useless. This is the main reason for launching our new CCTV Maintenance Division. There is always plenty demand for new CCTV installation projects, but there aren’t many places that companies can go if they want to extend the lifespan of their existing  systems. UIS is looking to change all that and we’re confident that customers will respond.”

UIS maintenance staff are able to carry out on-site repairs and are equipped with an extensive range of replacement parts to ensure that faulty or degraded equipment can be put back into to service as quickly as possible. Similarly, the use of its own access vehicles, such as the new cherry picker, means that the team can carry out maintenance work in busy public areas with minimal disruption to traffic and people57;s working routines. By removing the need to hire access plant, UIS is also able to reduce the cost of such projects to its customers.

In addition to its maintenance services, UIS offers a design and installation capability. Unique Integrated Systems is an NSI approved Gold Medal installer.
