Baxall has launched a new keyboard for its Pyramid matrix switching system.
Baxall’s Pyramid 2 keyboard provides users with more functionality, including full control of up to 144 cameras (including fixed; pan, tilt and zoom; and dome cameras, with AC and DC control), up to 32 monitors and eight serially controlled devices such as multiplexers, VCRs and hard disk recorders. Even with this increased capacity, the keyboard remains easy to use the manufacturer reports, as a result of tactile colour coded general purpose soft keys, a three-axis joystick for precision control of pan, tilt and zoom functions and a backlit VGA display which clearly shows the status and the menu options. To prevent unauthorised use and to ensure that operators are only allowed access to pre defined areas of the system, the Pyramid 2 keyboard is smart card protected.
