Trade waste and computer security are two issues of importance to businesses.
In response to the growing need for awareness regarding these issues Liverpool Chamber of Commerce is organising a "double header" at the BT Convention Centre on the Albert Dock on Wednesday, October 29, courtesy of the Objective One Programme.
The morning session will tell businesses everything they need to know about rubbish and recycling with presentations from the Environment Agency and others, and case studies of firms who have mastered the art of reducing the cost of waste and saving our environment. In the afternoon, Merseyside Police High Tech Computer Crime Team, the City of London Fraud Squad, and Littlewoods Shop Direct show how businesses can keep computers clean from IT viruses and will also give tips on trading on the internet. Merseyside recycling companies and computer specialists will also exhibit their products in the exhibition area, which is also where those attending can find free coffee and lunch throughout the day. Opportunities will also be made available for businesses to speak to outfits that recycle everything from food waste to paper to old computers, plus all the specialists who can keep businessesโ IT secure.
Peter Jones, head of Liverpool Chamberโs Business Crime Direct team says: "It has never been more important for businesses to ensure their ICT equipment is secure against fraud and viruses. This event offers an ideal opportunity for businesses to get up to date on the most recent developments in computer security".
Invitations will go out soon, but if you want the chance to exhibit your company at the conference, get in touch with Sue or Melissa at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce on 0151 227 1234.
