A contract to provide security services for the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust has gone to MITIE, the support services company.
The hospital’s in-house team of 21 officers transfer to MITIE plus recruitment of further officers. The MITIE team are now managing all aspects of the manned security, CCTV and car park management across the trust’s three sites including the John Radcliffe. As part of the mobilisation process, the team undertook specially designed training to enhance their customer service, control and restraint and fire fighting.
Jeff Flanagan, Managing Director for MITIE’s security business said: “We’re delighted to have secured this major contract with the Oxford Radcliffe and to be assisting them in protecting staff and visitors across their estate. As this was a first-time outsourced contract, we worked closely with the trust to ensure that we jointly allayed any fears that the team had with the transfer to MITIE. The mobilisation of this contract was critical and the commitment and dedication shown by the team has been outstanding.”
Dean Raffles, Trust Environmental Services Manager for the Oxford Radcliffe added: “Security is a critical issue for the Trust and having taken the decision to appoint an external contractor, it was vital that we could select a company that could ensure an effective mobilisation of the contract. We’ve been delighted by the approach that MITIE have taken to date and are pleased to be working with them to ensure that there is a safe and comfortable environment for both visitors and staff.”
