Mobile shredding company Shredall was invited to organise the meeting of the BSIA (British Security Industry Association) at the Trent Bridge conference centre. Some 40 delegates discussed what is facing the information destruction industry. The Nottinghamshire-based data destruction firm?s mobile shredding units travel the counties, destroying data on site, without the need to transport sensitive material any distance before it is shredded. Managing director of Shredall, Lloyd Williams, said: ?Shredall is a founding member of the information destruction (ID) section of the BSIA. We are encountering new and challenging data destruction needs every day as more and more companies become aware of the need, often legal need, to destroy sensitive and highly confidential material. Our customer base is extending its reach every day – now we are asked to destroy anything from paper to uniforms, from computer disks to CCTV cassettes. All this activity must be regulated and Shredall is keen to develop a code of working practice, approved by the government, that will guide members and their customers through the secure process of data destruction. Following that through, we also strive to recycle our waste in an environmentally friendly manner – promoting responsible business practice. This is a relatively new and specialist industry in the UK but its growth potential is enormous – our customer list now includes the Bank of England.?
