In a Cambridgeshire village, a retailer has given space to a local police officer so that shoppers can now drop in to see their bobby when they pop into the village’s One Stop Shop.
PC Lisa Marston will be in the Chatteris shop from 9am until 1pm on the first Monday of each month starting in December. PC Marston has teamed up with Fenland District Council to run the monthly surgery, which will provide Chatteris residents with an opportunity to raise local issues and concerns with police.
PC Marston said: "Running this surgery will allow residents to pop into see me to report incidents or raise concerns about local issues, crime and anti-social behaviour. Customers will be able to speak with me privately and in confidence. I’m keen to speak to anyone, even if they’d just like to pop in and say hello!"
