The CR:290 Digital Noise Nuisance Recorder from Cirrus Research plc has been designed to be simple to operate, suitable, it is claimed, for housing associations.
The noise measurement tool has been specifically designed for the recording and analysis of noise complaints, the North Yorkshire-based makers say. It is a replacement, it is claimed, for Sound Level Meter & DAT based noise nuisance recording systems, provides the features of a SLM/DAT based system, but removes the problems associated with cables, tapes and recording quality, the makers say.
The built-in colour touch screen provides a step-by-step setup routine, Cirrus say. Calibration is by attaching the calibrator to the microphone and selecting "Calibrate" on the colour screen. After calibration, the user can record a voice log which can be used to store details of the location, time, date and any other useful information for future reference.
The product has all of the electronics housed in a case. The instrument consists of the digital audio recording system and the noise level measurement system with a Type 1 microphone to capture the noise levels. The product is supplied with all of the accessories needed to operate the unit including an Acoustic Calibrator and the reporting software, the makers add.
