Nottingham is running a campaign to raise awareness of public transport staff’s right to respect from the public.
NET tram crew and Nottingham City Transport Travelcentre staff wear T-shirts drawing attention to the campaign, which is related to the ongoing ’Respect for Transport’ initiative, which aims to stamp out crime and anti-social behaviour across public transport in the Midlands city.
Meanwhile, a new helpline has been launched by the city council for people to report incidents of anti-social behaviour.
The helpline – 0115 915 2020 – will be open between 10am to 8pm to take reports of such problems as aggressive begging, graffiti, prostitution, abandoned vehicles, the riding of mini mopeds and go-peds in public spaces and parks, joy riding or excessive noise, the council says.
