Parking In Cambridge

by msecadm4921

Legion is the contractor appointed to carry out parking enforcement within Cambridge City.

Legion Parking Services (Legion) – a trading arm of the Royal British Legion Attendants Company – will undertake enforcement from October 25, when parking powers will be transferred from the police to the County Council. The new scheme, commonly known as LAPE – Local Authority Parking Enforcement – will see a partnership approach to enforcement with the City and County Councils operating the scheme together. Paul Necus, Head of Parking Services at Cambridge City Council, said: "Anyone who drives in Cambridge knows of the problems caused by one irresponsible motorist parking in the wrong place. The majority of motorists correctly use our Park and Ride and city centre car parking facilities."

Legion has worked with the City and County Councils providing security services over the last 16 years and employs 180 staff locally. Nationally, Legion operates parking and security services for a number of local authorities and private clients and has a focus on public service. Recruitment of attendants will start soon.
