Partnerships to Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour is the title of a one-day conference in London on January 13.
From April 2005, the new £660m Safer and Stronger Communities Fund will aim to improve national and local interagency working to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and poor public spaces. Merging several of the existing funding streams into one, the fund targets local crime problems and priorities as identified by communities and enables the focusing of resources to deliver agreed outcomes.
A one day conference by Neil Stewart Associates in London on January 13 will consider how local authorities, police and other agencies can co-ordinate and streamline services on a local level to tackle anti-social behaviour. As well as discussing the implications of managing agreed targets and strategies, the conference will, say organisers, examine best practice, measuring and assessing effectiveness and how to overcome barriers to success in tackling persistent local anti-social behaviour.
