Up until now, companies with PCs in unsecured but relatively clean environments (such as warehouses) have had to pay the premium for IP-rated enclosures to provide protection against theft, tampering or damage. For many companies the only viable solution has been to purchase the very cheapest (and lowest quality) IP-rated enclosues thus gaining neither effective security or dust protection, or in other cases to go without and accept the risk of theft. Armagard has addressd this gap in the market by designing a high security PC enclosure. The new ThiefGard Security Enclosure from Armagard provides more affordable and effective security for PCs in unsecured but relatively clean environments, the manufacturer says. It is suitable for light industrial units, distribution centres, forklift loading bays, warehouses and production offices. Unlike an IP-rated enclosure, ThiefGard is designed specifically to protect against tampering, theft and impact damage. It is designed to house a 15-inch monitor, tower or desktop PC, keyboard and mouse. A lockable clamping arrangement is provided to further secure the PC inside the enclosure. Keyboard and mouse are accommodated on a shelf fitted to the front of the unit. Security features include: double door locks; jemmy-resistant inset door design; triple folds around door bolts to prevent removal of door; and provision for bolting the enclosure to a desk or pedestal. Manufactured from
1.5mm mild steel and seam-welded, the ThiefGard Security Enclosure will protect against even forklift impact.
