Reliance Secure Task Management Limited (“RSTM”), part of Reliance Security, has been awarded, as part of a consortium, a 25-year Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract for Cleveland Police Authority.
This follows its appointment as preferred bidder for the contract, which was announced in October 2004.
The project involves the financing, design and construction of two custody centres, two divisional headquarters and two town centre police stations. RSTM will provide a range of support services, starting towards the end of 2006, including building, utilities and asset management; security services and health and safety management; laundry and waste management; grounds maintenance and pest control; storage and handling of video and audio tapes; the handling of stray dogs and the provision of a help desk. It is estimated that the 25-year support services contract will generate turnover for RSTM of £1.3 million in a full year, Reliance add.
What they say
