Angus (Gus) Darroch-Warren of Linx International writes:
I am studying for my MSc in Security Management at Loughborough University and I am conducting research for my thesis/dissertation, the topic of which is:
Licensing the Investigators:
How and to what extent will proposed competency criteria for the Private Investigation sector lead to greater professionalism within the security industry?"
Can readers assist Gus with data for the research? He’s doing a survey, via the following web link:

He writes: "My research examines the definition of a private investigator, whether the “PI” sector can be classed as a profession or not, the licensing framework, the remit of the SIA and the validity of the draft competency criteria themselves. Although evidently aimed primarily at the investigation sector, responses from a range of security practitioners would be really useful; evidently the more I can get, the more valid the results."
